The Arts and Humanities Research Council is seeking to establish a ‘Centre for Copyright and New Business Models in the Creative Economy ‘ to foster integration and transformational change of research effort across the creative industries sector. This multi-disciplinary research facility will address the research challenges facing the creative economy, covering new digital technologies and issues of copyright and new business models.
The Centre, which has an operating budget of £5 million for the first four years, funded at 80% of FEC, will be hosted by one HEI and will enable exploration and investigation of the dynamic relationships between the main aspects of the modern creative economy. The AHRC is now inviting expressions of interest from HEIs and accredited Independent Research Organisations across the UK.
The deadline for Stage 1 Expressions of Interest is 8 September 2011. Successful applicants to Stage 2 will be announced in October and invited to submit a full Stage 2 proposal by January 2012.
