Martha Lane Fox’s Foundation – Funding for technology in charities

Antigone, Martha Lane Fox’s Foundation, has announced that the next funding round will open for application in September 2012.  The Foundation are interested in helping charities think through how they use web and mobile technologies and  are looking to support projects  that can show that they are sustainable and use technology innovatively; can show that they are improving people’s lives; are managed by inspired and dedicated people; have ambitions for developing their work on a bigger scale; share lessons learned with other organisations in their sector; and form lasting partnerships to make the most of limited resources.
 
Previous grants have ranged between £5,000 – 15,000 per year for terms of 1-5 years.

Research into opportunities for girls in youth theatre

Tonic Theatre in partnership with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, Company of Angels and Zendeh is conducting a nationwide research study into levels of opportunity for girls in youth theatre and extra-curricular drama activity. 

  • Do you run extra-curricular drama activities with young people between the ages of 11-25?
  • Are you a youth theatre leader?
  • Do you run a community drama group?
  • Do you work for a part-time stage school?

vInspired funding for young people to improve their community

vInspired, the Volunteering Charity, has announced that its Cashpoint grants scheme is once again open for applications.  The Cashpoint grants scheme offers grants of up to £500 to give young people (aged 14-25) the opportunity to bring their ideas to improve their local community to life.  The funding is available to individual young people (or small groups) who have developed a project idea and will run the project themselves. Projects must be run on a volunteer only basis.

Clore Duffield Foundation – Poetry & Literature fund for children and young people

The Clore Duffield Foundation has launched a new £1 million programme to fund poetry and literature initiatives for children and young people across the UK. The programme is due to run from 2011 to 2015 with two funding rounds a year. The programme is open to schools, FE colleges, community groups, libraries and other arts/cultural organisations. Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available to support participatory learning projects and programmes focused on literature, poetry and creative writing for under 19s.

Woodward Charitable Trust

The Woodward Charitable Trust awards grant funding to small-scale, locally-based charitable initiatives in the UK in the following areas:

  • children and young people;
  • minority groups including refugees, gypsies and travellers;
  • prisoners and ex-offenders;
  • disability;

  • environmental projects.
