Bolton Festival of the Arts: exhibition and activity opportunities

2012 sees the launch of the first Bolton Festival of the Arts taking place from 14th to 21st June 2012.

The festival joins up work from students, community and professional artists, arts organisations and a wealth of local businesses to show residents of Bolton visiting the centre that we are a creative town and encourage people to join in fun performances and activities.  Town centre activities will mainly take place over the weekend of 16th/17th June, with work taking place throughout the week at the University of Bolton and higher education colleges.

A major element of the festival will be an art trail with artists creating bespoke work to display in businesses and empty shops. Artwork can be visual arts, craft, textiles, photography, creative writing and poetry. Additionally, other arts activities and workshops can be temporarily housed in empty shop units.

This is a great opportunity to ensure that everyone visiting the town centre experiences artistic excellence in the most unusual of places! It is also a chance to exhibit artwork to a whole new audience.

If you are interested in providing artwork, please contact Laurette Evans, Bolton Arts Forum: le1@bolton.ac.uk
