Crowdfunding Manchester Day

Make your Manchester Day project even bigger and better!

As part of next year’s event we are going to encourage some participating groups to seek crowd funding to supplement the creative funding that we can commit to Manchester Day projects to help make them even bigger and better! If you are interested in taking part in next year’s Manchester Day and in sourcing additional funding we are holding a series of workshops to guide you to delivering a succesful crowd funding project.

The first session will be a briefing workshop. An introduction to crowd funding and will be run to gauge interest and sign people up for subsequent detailed workshops.
On: Wednesday December 7
In: Committee Room 4 of Manchester Town Hall (ground floor – just inside Lloyd Street entrance), Albert Square, M2 5EA
At: 4.30 – 6pm or 6.30 – 8pm

The workshop will be run by Anne Strachan (, a fundraising professional who has over 20 years experience as a trainer in alternative finance, social investment and crowdfunding.

Two subsequent workshops will be organised in which Anne will be available to those who have signed up to take a crowdfunding campaign on. Details will be shared with those people/groups on the details of those workshops. The workshops will be more detailed and help with the detail around setting up and maintaining a crowdfunding campaign. When these take place will be arranged to suit the participating groups and are likely to be in January/February 2017.

Please note any successful crowd funding campaign involves a lot of hard work but the rewards can be significant.

We do hope you might be interested in taking up this opportunity to make your Manchester Day entry bigger and better for 2017.
