Concerts Manager

Chetham’s School of Music seeks an experienced & dynamic individual: flexible, hardworking and meticulously dependable. Funding to support art projects

The Fidelio Trust has announced that the next closing date for applications is the 1st June 2017. The Trust offers grants of up to £5,000 in support of the Arts, in particular Music, including:

  • Opera
  • Lieder
  • Composition
  • Dance.

The Trustees aim to help individuals and groups such as:

  • Colleges
  • Arts Festivals
  • Other arts organisations who would not be able to carry out a project or activity without financial support.

Funding is available towards:

  • Tuition or coaching costs
  • To participate in external competitions
  • To be supported for a specially arranged performance
  • To receive support for a special publication, musical composition or work of art.

Crowdfunding

Arts and heritage projects funded by the Arts Council and the Heritage Lottery. £125k will be made available for campaigns run by individual artists, and £125k for campaigns run by heritage organisations in Scotland, the NW and the SW. NESTA will be testing two ways of distributing the match pledges. Register to find out more when the fund launches.

  • A ‘top-up model’ where 25% of extra funding is released once a project has managed to achieve 75% of its funding target.
  • A ‘bridge model’ when projects raise up to 25% from the Crowd and then ‘bridge’ funding is released which brings them to 50%. The funding is then conditional on the project going on to reach the final 50%.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Dance Practices

The School of Sport Studies, Leisure & Nutrition has a long standing and international reputation for providing a range of successful, quality programmes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our experienced and dynamic team of academics and support staff. We particularly welcome applications from people with established interests in Dance practices in a number of the following (dance technique commercial, urban genres and contemporary, dance history/perspectives, teaching and facilitating, community dance practices, project management/website, research methods, work based learning/placement support and choreography and performance theory). Your teaching, research and/or scholarly activity will contribute to a number of successful interdisciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the School.

You will have an appropriate first degree and a PhD. You should also have experience in degree level teaching. Professional or industry related experience would be an advantage.

Opportunity for local performers in Bolton

This is an amazing opportunity for local choirs, bands, musicians, artistic performers, drama groups and dance groups to perform at the Bolton Market Place.

A brand new amazing stage is currently being constructed on the ground floor of the shopping centre overhanging the new vaults where restaurants will be opening just before Easter. Jilly is looking for slots to be filled 12 – 3pm Sunday – Friday and would like a wide variety of local community groups to perform. The stage measures approx. 7m x 5m and amplification will be provided. You will be able to perform in front of thousands of shoppers with great exposure. There is also an offer of free promotion on the giant 27 ft screen directly behind the stage which can have your name and logo on. Also you would receive promotion on social media to the 7,000 followers of Bolton Market Place, on both Facebook and Twitter.

Any group performing has the opportunity of fundraising throughout their performance with a collection bucket for themselves or a charity which they’re linked with.
