Research Executive / Senior Research Executive

We’re looking to grow our UK team with experienced Research Executives / Senior Research Executives. We’re recruiting for two positions, one will be a permanent position and the other will be a 12 month fixed term maternity cover contract.

Morris Hargreaves McIntyre are the largest cultural strategy and research agency in the UK. Based in Manchester, and with offices in New Zealand and Australia, we specialise in organisational development, strategic planning, audience insight and market research, brand development, audience development, segmentation, product development, income development and impact evaluation within the arts, cultural, heritage, leisure, higher education, sports and charity sectors. All of our projects are different, but the value we add is constant.

The role requires a highly intelligent and organised ‘completer-finisher,’ who is knowledgeable in both qualitative and quantitative research, to deliver the very best insight and results possible. You will have considerable experience working in a consultancy or market research environment where your time is accountable. Proven experience of working directly with clients and successfully managing projects to agreed timescales, budgets and to a high standard is a must.

In this role you will play a part throughout the project lifecycle, drawing on strong project management skills and experience to manage project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and budget, with quality outcomes. You will undertake research design, data collection and analysis to produce insightful, stimulating reports for some of the world’s leading museums, galleries, theatres and arts centres as well as heritage bodies and charities in the UK and around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

Research Executive

  • Project manage the delivery of projects, working with project teams to ensure delivery on time and on budget, to a standard that delights our clients
  • Design quantitative and qualitative research tools and methods
  • Conduct primary qualitative research and source secondary research
  • Analyse, interpret and report on qualitative and quantitative data. This includes producing reports and other final outputs of projects (e.g. client presentations)
  • Take an active part in insight workshops and other collaborative sessions to analyse and model findings and develop conclusions
  • Contribute to the development of new products, evaluation tools/methods and improved systems

Senior Research Executive 

  • Undertake research design, data collection and analysis and produce insightful, stimulating reports
  • Support and contribute to delivery of strategic projects
  • Contribute to business development and account management of key clients by managing client accounts, responding to briefs for new work, writing proposals, attending pitches and developing potential opportunities
  • Design and implement digital research methods including online and social media research, panel research, online research, online communities and web research
  • Line manage, mentor and train other members as appropriate
  • Support Account Group Leads and Chief Strategy Officer with delivery of strategies, including developing, agreeing and prioritising projects within this area and advocating for them through AGLs

Contract: We’re looking to grow our UK team with experienced Research Executives / Senior Research Executives. We’re recruiting for two positions, one will be a permanent position and the other will be a 12 month fixed term maternity cover contract.

Salary: £18-26K / £24 – £32K per annum
Location: Based in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Hours of Work: Hours of work are open to discussion. A full time contract is a minimum of 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. MHM offer some flexibility on start and end times in return for your flexibility when required to meet business needs.

Research Director / Senior Consultant

Head of Research Operations

Senior Research Analyst

Join our team as a Senior Research Analyst

We are looking for an experienced qualitative and quantitative researcher to join the team as a Senior Research Analyst.

In this role you will undertake research design, data collection and analysis and produce insightful, stimulating reports for some of the world’s leading museums, galleries, theatres and arts centres as well as heritage bodies and charities.

This role requires someone with considerable experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques, including experience of working with survey analysis software packages e.g. SPSS, SNAP or Confirmit.

You will have proven experience of taking responsibility for projects successfully delivered by a team on time, on budget and to a high standard. You should be able to work on your own initiative, manage time effectively and work accurately and quickly under pressure.

Location: Based in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Design quantitative and qualitative research tools and methods;
  2. Set up databases/scripts for data processing, iPad surveys and online surveys;
  3. Conduct primary qualitative research including moderating focus groups;
  4. Source and analyse secondary research;
  5. Design and implement digital research methods including online and social media research, panel research, mobile research, online communities and web research;
  6. Analyse, interpret, report and deliver qualitative and quantitative data. This includes producing reports and other final outputs of projects (e.g. client presentations);
  7. Output data – including data validation and quality control;
  8. Take an active part in / lead insight workshops and other collaborative sessions to analyse and model findings and develop conclusions;
  9. Project manage the delivery of projects, working with and reviewing the work of project teams to ensure delivery on time and on budget, to a high standard;
  10. Help to develop and maintain our positive relationships with clients, acting as the main point of contact on your projects;
  11. Support Data Director with delivery of the data strategy, including developing, agreeing and prioritising projects within this area and advocating for them through SMT;
  12. Keep up to date with research techniques and new ways of thinking in the sector and contribute to knowledge management systems specific to role;
  13. Mentor and train Research Analysts and other team members as appropriate;
  14. Contribute to website copy and documentation;
  15. Contribute to writing proposals and attending pitches. Contribute to product and market development initiatives, horizon scanning, identifying opportunities, networking and partnership building;

Line Management (when applicable)

  1. Contribute and actively partake in recruitment activities as appropriate;
  2. Proactively manage the performance of those you manage, including conducting appraisals and quarterly reviews and encouraging continued professional development;
  3. Actively support the well-being of those that report into you;

General Duties

  1. Contribute to the development of new products, evaluation tools/methods and improved systems;
  2. Work as part of the team to meet objectives and targets of the business plan, using established internal processes. Meet business plan targets for chargeable hours;
